"Humidity's rising, barometer's getting low
According to all sources the street's the place to go
'Cos tonight for the first time at just about half past ten
For the first time in history, it's gonna start raining men" - It's Raining Men, Paul Jabara/Paul Schaffer
Maeve has some great Mister friends: Mister Yoda, Mister Vader, Mister Spock, Mister Domo, etc. I don't know why exactly, I just started using Mister in front of her male, named toys. It's not because I expect her to respect them, although it is true that she will never know the power of the Dark Side.
She also knows some great Misters who are not toys: Mister Josh, Mister Dan, Mister Tim, and Mister Mike. Mister Josh is going to take her one-year portraits, and we're very excited about that. Maeve likes to play video games with Mister Dan, and Mister Tim and Mister Mike are both baby entertainers of great caliber. I'm very happy she has these fellas in her life.
I just wonder when she gets bigger, and we show her Star Wars, is she going to just wave at Mister Vader, or will he seem scary to her at all? You can make a stuffed Dark Lord at Build-a-Bear, so it seems he's losing his villain clout. And she's very into chewing on Mister Spock's ears at the moment - who can blame her?
Her Daddy will always be the most important man in her life, and her granddads and uncles and all, but I'm grateful for her other misters - real and imagined -because of their kindness and patience, and the (mostly) great role models they are... just not Mister Vader, whose purpose is best served when Maeve gnaws on his head.
i think mister vader is bending to miss maeve's will :)
ReplyDeleteStrong with her, the force is.
