"To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle. "-Walt Whitman
I sat watching my daughter and my husband playing this weekend, just beaming. I think even my toes were smiling. My family makes me happier than anything else ever has.
She makes him giggle, he makes her giggle. She gives him a cookie, then takes it away at the last minute. She sticks her head through her legs to look at the world upside-down, and all of us get the giggles. She uses her hairbrush on her hair, to wild applause and praise from us, which she follows by using her giraffe as a hairbrush, then her block, then a bowl... maybe she didn't do the hairbrush thing on purpose, but now that we praised her for it, everything goes in her hair.
I love, love, love, love, love playing together. I love my life. My days are unspeakably perfect, my nights, a quiet pool of reflection. As Thich Nhat Hanh says, "Being in this moment, I know it is a wonderful moment."
