Letter M

I am not 100% positive about this, more tests must be done.  But if I am not very much mistaken, my daughter can recognize the letter M, and might even know what sound it makes.

For the last two weeks, she has been pointing to letters and numbers in books, and I have been repeating them back to her.  She has an M on her door, and one on her wall, and she keeps pointing at them, while both of us go "M M M M", and I say "Maeve, Momma, Music, Mix, Magic..."

In England I was very excited because we sat on a bench with a dedication on the back, and she noticed the letters and pointed at them, one by one.  I thought it was pretty good spotting for a one-year-old to notice letters in an unfamiliar place like a bench.

But best of all, last night I put two books in front of her, each one with a large letter on the front.  I said, "Which one is the M? Show me the M?" and she pointed to it, no hesitation.  Then I put 4 books in front of her, and she still went straight for the M when asked.

Like I said, we'll see as I keep asking her about that letter today and over the weekend, but I think my brilliant, Mensa-baby has recognized a letter at age 13 1/2 months!  I may not have any buttons left to bust!

The bench in question.
