First No

“What is a rebel? A man who says no” -Albert Camus

Maeve may not be the leader of the Rebel forces just yet, but she did say no to me yesterday.  Actually, she said nonononono.  She may have heard that around here somewhere...

I'm not certain she understands how to use the word just yet - she did it right a few times yesterday and then at random times.  Sometimes it's hard to tell when a toddler is communicating - they make so much noise, and only some of it is meant to tell you something.  Lots of it is just for the sake of making noise, or communicating with her Darth Vader dolly.

But the no years have begun, I think.  I'm trying to face the fact, yet again, that what I have here is more toddler than baby.  She can climb the furniture, do somersaults, throw food from the high chair, sit still for 40 minutes of ABC songs, throw herself to the ground when she's mad, and say no.  On the upside, she's gaining interest in all things potty, so that's a benefit to her getting bigger.  I guess it's all a trade-off - more no, but an end to diapers within the next year.

No Mom, I don't need any help.
