Bye-bye bottle! That's right, I decided to give bottle weaning another go, and it worked just fine. We are now an all-sippy cup, all-the-time family. Well, Maeve is, I hardly ever drink out of sippy cups. I am so happy to see the back end of those things. Our Avent bottles always leaked whenever there was any little bit of moisture where they screwed on, and since the tops were hand wash only, there was always moisture in there. I leaked so much formula on myself I probably gained weight by osmosis.
We are saying bye bye to the bottle and hello to Mr. Potty! Maeve has been trying our her new potty this week by sitting on it and simultaneously sticking her hands in the bowl, which makes me grateful she hasn't actually produced anything on the potty just yet. I am thinking we need a potty book - something expendable should The Worst occur. But for now she just sits there and grins, happy to be naked from the waist down and sitting on the Chair with the Funny Hole.
Maeve will be fifteen months on Saturday, and as a typical Momma, I can't believe how big she's getting! Tiny humans are such amazing, astounding creatures, and we have so much fun together. Bye-bye baby, Hello Big Girl!
| This is her new trick - she sits like this for 30 min at a time! |
Congrats on getting rid of the bottle! Sammy does the same thing with his potty and I'm not quite sure if I should be promoting his playing with it or nipping it in the bud, since I don't want him playing with it once he starts using it! :D

ReplyDeleteLOL I've only done it a few times, Liz, but that may change...
