Maeve has always had her own thoughts about style, at least since she was big enough to play. Because we always make a joke of putting things on our heads when we play - colanders, bowls, ducks, etc, Maeve feels that hats or anything else worn on the head is a joke to be removed. She has also been removing my glasses since she mastered grasping with her hands. So it's possible she thinks I should get contacts.
Yesterday, she really wanted to play with my hair, so I removed my barrettes so she could dig right in. She got her fingers into my hair and rustled things around, and would stop, grab my face by the eyeballs, and raise my head up so she could see how her look was progressing. The outcome was... unique.
I can tell I'll be letting her play with my hair a lot, although if I keep it the length it is, she won't be able to braid it or do ponytails when she gets a little older. But I'm sure she'll be very creative, especially if Momma teaches her about mousse.
And it's kind of nice to think she likes how my hair looks right when I roll out of bed.
