It's weeks like this that I am grateful to have a family. Maeve got sick on Thursday, then on and off again through Saturday. I got sick Saturday night, and have slowly progressed toward wellness since then. The Husband got sick last night and is a big ball of misery today.
We were so lucky not to all get struck at once, or none of us would have made it - we would have had to call in reinforcements - i.e. my mother in law, who would have happily helped, I'm sure, but been a bit overwhelmed by a sick, teething toddler and two adults not holding down anything at all. As it is, we're a wreck.
My husband did a great job of looking after Maeve while I attempted to recuperate, so I'm trying to do the same for him, but boy, can she tell something is up. She is becoming more demanding, requiring specific shows (yesterday it was all Yo Gabba Gabba ...which made me feel like I was sicker than I was) and very, very specific foods (no plain bunny grahams, they must be chocolate). She is wearing me out entirely after ten minutes of being awake.
I know she's teething, and us being sick stresses her out, but seriously, child, please give Mommy and Daddy a break. At least she's not running around like a hellion and getting into trouble, because that would be worse, for sure. She's probably tired of being cooped up, too, but we don't want anyone else in the world to suffer like we have this week.
So wash your hands and say a prayer for sick families today. Hoping to come back with better, brighter news tomorrow.

Ugh...I so dread being sick!! When you've got a little one, it's so draining and there is just no time to take care of yourself. Try to rest and get back to good health soon!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I hope everyone is on the mend soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad you guys didn't have a strong dose of Cipro and some purple gatorade, worked wonders for the people that got jungle tummy. Glad you guys are over the worst of it!
