Sandwich Art

"Too few people understand a really good sandwich. "-James Beard

The art of Maeve eating a sandwich is a sight to behold.  If you've ever seen an adorable, sticky python slowly swallowing a very sticky giant rat, the effect is similar.

I make her a sandwich with a dinosaur cookie cutter every day, so it has no crusts and only takes one slice of bread, and it has sunflower butter and peach, apple, or rhubarb jelly on it.  There will be no serious deviations from this pattern, or the sandwich will not be consumed.  Woe betide Momma if she puts hummus or some other substandard substance therein.

She then very slowly shoves the entire sandwich in her mouth, chewing as she goes.  No biting off pieces, just a long, slow, sticky dissolve into her maw.  And she giggles at me when I comment on how icky she looks when she does it, so maybe she's doing it just to gross me out.  All I know is the child knows how to get the maximum mileage out of a sticky situation.

Hilarious and VERY sticky!
