No Nap

"Oh Gertrude, Gertrude/when sorrows come, they come not in single spies/but in battalions" - Hamlet, Act IV, scene v

The child did not nap yesterday.  First time ever.  It was plainly awful.  I have so much to do, trying to get us ready to move, and then I had a non-sleeping child all. day. long.  It was bad.  My mental health state was unpleasant at best, and so was hers, as she is still getting over a cold and is thus fairly temperamental.

So my dear husband sent me off to Target after dinner to cool off and relax, which would have been even more marvelous had the Check Engine light not come on in the car on the way there.  Really? Now?

When I got home, all was peaceful, but soon after I put Maeve to bed for the night I realized that my shivering was not just from recently having run out to the car, but because I had a fever.  I curled up under a blanket with a heating pad trying to get warm all evening, and then was burning up when I got in bed.  I really haven't had that rough a day in a long time.

But and however, it doesn't matter.  Because today is Closing Day, and we get handed the keys to our new house tonight.  I can survive anything, just knowing that I will be a homeowner by the end of the day.  Although I could really use a better day than yesterday, definitely.
One good thing that happened yesterday: Maeve feeding her ladybug

  1. Oh, how exciting! And how stressful to have a not-sleeping Maeve and not feeling well! Yuck, yuck! I do hope you are feeling better soon. The move will be over before you know it!

On another note, Maeve is getting SO big!

  2. Bad things come in threes, so hopefully with Maeve not napping, the check engine light and your fever all happening yesterday, that means you'll be good to go for the big move!
