“It was the beginning of the greatest Christmas ever. Little food. No presents. But there was a snowman in their basement.”

A few weeks ago, Maeve and I went to craft time at our local children's resale store, Teenie Greenies. We made a turkey headband, which was pretty fun. It was by no means our first time to visit craft hour, but it made an impression: Maeve woke up from naps for a week telling me "I made a craft!" She really loved it.
So we have been doing more "crafts" around the house lately, just to keep the troops motivated and happy, certainly not to give Mommy any free time, because crafts are very Mommy-intensive at the moment. But still fun.
Yesterday, we made a paper-plate snowman, since we don't have any snow around here to make the real thing. I cut out all the shapes and stuck tape on the back of them, and Maeve applied them to the snowman. I really only pointed to her where I thought the shapes should go, so considering that, she did pretty darned well with the face and buttons and scarf. If I had been more prepared, I could have made our fella more accessories, but I think he looks pretty good as it is.
