Books

“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library” - Jorge Luis Borges

As you may have already guessed, I am a dedicated reader.  I began reading at a fairly young age, and from the moment I began, books have held solace, friendship, and wisdom for me that I've found nowhere else in life.

So it is, I read to Maeve every day, one book every day for a week.  We've already made our way through "Babies" by Gyo Fujikawa, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle, "Whose Baby Am I" by John Butler, and "Goodnight, Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown.  She sits very quietly while I read to her, captured by the cadence of my voice and the pictures on the page.

But Maeve has chosen a book of her own.  It's called "The Duck Goes Quack" and I don't think it has an author, as such.  It's more of a teether than an actual book.  But I'm not picky, I figure chewing on a book will inevitably lead to loving it, and loving books will stand her in good stead.
