Erupt

"Every tooth in a man's head is more valuable than a diamond."  ~Miguel de Cervantes

After three and a half months of off-and-on crying, screaming, suffering, drool, and general malaise, my Maeve has produced two teeth.  This is grand news, as it seemed to me it would never come.  I know it doesn't mean her tooth-related suffering has ended, by any means, but this first hurdle to be gotten over has been leapt.

And wow, they're sharp! Right now it's just the points of them that have erupted from her gums, so they're ready for all their biting duties.  Since we already think of Maeve as a Baby Dino (because of all the roaring and stomping she likes to do), but now D has taken to calling her Sharptooth, a reference to the eternally-continuing saga of the Land Before Time series.

I know that being a mom means that I'll be here to help Maeve through every difficult point she comes to, every challenge, every seemingly insurmountable problem.  But this one, this particular hurdle, is through, and my big girl has two teeth to show for it.  Atta girl.
