Vote

"You've got to vote for someone. It's a shame, but it's got to be done. " - Whoopi Goldberg

It astounds me that for some reason, only one political party in this country advertises itself as being pro-family.  I am willing to bet that people across the political spectrum have families, and would even say that the strongest reason they have for voting is their children.  I know that for me, at least, some political issues that I've always felt strongly about loomed even larger for me this election year because of Maeve.

Whether your reasons for voting are pro-life, small government, and tradition, or better schools, the environment, and healthcare (or some mixture of these), please make sure the world hears your voice today and vote.  As a good friend of mine always says, if you don't vote, don't expect any sympathy when you complain about the government.  It's more than your right, it's your duty, and not to put too fine a point on it, people died so you could make your voice heard.

And just a favor to me as a Momma -please consider not voting for any proposal that would cut funding to schools or libraries.  That's the big issue for me this year, as I want Maeve to get the best education she can and have the best resources available for her learning.

Thanks.

You can see how Maeve's Momma voted, but Maeve is sitting this one out due to pressing obligations.
