To tell the bears 'Wake up! It's Spring!'" - It's Spring by Samantha Berger
Maeve loves this book about spring; it combines her favorite things: farm animals, silly noises, and (I like to think) Springtime.
We've certainly been enjoying getting out in this weather; we've been to the park every day this week so far. Of course, since we live right up against the foothills here in Colorado, it's always windy, and Maeve doesn't like the wind very much. But she puts up with it in order to watch the other kids at the playground, and to practice some outside walking.
I, for one, have never felt such a warm welcome for the warmer weather since I was a kid myself. Being cooped up inside with a kid all winter was almost as bad as being a kid cooped up inside all winter. Let's go play already!
I love all the transitions between the seasons, it's wonderful to feel summer cool down into autumn, and autumn freeze over into winter. But what's better than feeling winter thaw into flowers, warm breezes, rain, and green grass? Spring is the Earth's sigh of relief and best foot forward, like it's trying to impress us. And it works!
Yay for sunshine and big kitties! |
