Beautiful Girl

My daughter takes my breath away.  I worried, among a myriad of other worries when I was pregnant, that instead of inheriting the best qualities of my husband and I, she would find the worst, and end up somehow unbeautiful.  Like just about all of the worries I suffered while pregnant, it was foolish and senseless.

I imagine many people don't see the beauty of my daughter's face when she frowns and stares at them on the street; she doesn't share her beauty with strangers, but keeps it for us, like a secret pearl.  Sometimes I even feel smug, knowing how absolutely breathtaking she is when it's just the two or three of us.

We had her one year portraits done a few weeks ago, and received the photos last night.  I will share them with you, so you can see how perfect my big baby girl is.
