Daddy Hats

Daddy does a lot of different jobs around our house; he switches hats faster than the Queen.  Today I just want to brag on a few of them.

He wears the cleaning hat (would that be a bandanna?) at least once a day.  Daddy knows I get ridiculously tired keeping up with Maeve during the day, and any cleaning I don't manage while she's sleeping, he takes care of when he gets home.  He just worked a nine hour day, but somehow summons the energy to do the dinner dishes, take out the diaper trash, and keep things tidy.  I have to admit, I love that cleaning hat on him.

He wears his work hat most of the day, doing in-house tech support at a big retirement company.  He deals with people who know their way around computers, and many who do not, including someone who casually inquired of him whether he had something to remove Sharpie from a flatscreen.  He works overtime every week, bends over backwards to help anyone who needs him, and knows what he's talking about.  I don't get to see that hat, but I know it takes up a lot of his day.

He also has a nice looking Good Husband hat, which he wears not just on special occasions, but regularly.  He is generous with compliments and attention, often doing whatever he can to make my day easier and better.  He has never once forgotten a birthday, anniversary, or even Maeve's monthly milestones.  

But by far my favorite hat of them all is the Silly Dad hat.  He jumps at every opportunity to make goofy faces, silly noises, tickle attacks, and new games to play.  I know Maeve loves that hat, too, and it's why Daddy is her most favorite person in the whole world.  When he comes home, it's like the red carpet on Oscar night at our house.  And for good reason.
