Maeve is a pretty well-traveled baby. She's been to England twice in a year and a half, and to many fairly far-away places within our state. We plan on taking her to some of our favorite places: Yellowstone, San Luis Obispo, Oregon, Boston, Mesa Verde, and Disneyland, just to name a few.
However, traveling with a young toddler is only advisable when absolutely necessary, so we are putting off most of our bigger trips (at least the ones that involve a lot of driving) until she is older. But Daddy just signed up for a very cool program where we will send and receive postcards to places all over the world.
We asked all our correspondents to address their postcards to Maeve, so she will have a really cool collection of international postcards, not to mention stamps, sent to her from all over! It's not exactly traveling, but it seems like a great way of expanding her horizons.
It's a big, beautiful world out there, with many secret destinations, and we hope to whet her appetite for more!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea. Also love that you want to share your love of travel with your daughter. If you want to do it, you'll make it happen. And oh my gosh, nothing makes kids...do the happy wiggle:-), as much as when they get mail! Cute blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! (And I totally need to pick your brain re: air flight and toddlers--I'm going to be flying with Sammy for the first time next month and I have a feeling I'm going to need all of the help that I can get!)
