Snow Crafts

"A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water. " -Carl Reiner

We had another snow day this week, so today I just want to show you guys a couple of crafts we did to pass the time, since I know a lot of you will have some indoor time to burn as winter nestles in.

Firstly, I built Maeve a fort under the table, which she studiously ignored all day.  Oh well, I guess that's because we gave her such a cool tree tent that she was unimpressed with my fort-making abilities.  But after the fort failure, she wanted to do some coloring.  I gave her a bunch of computer paper and let her scribble away.

Then when she went down for her nap, I folded and cut up her scribbles into snowflakes.

I also cut out a snowman shape - on unscribbled paper -taped on an orange nose, and drew on a mouth.  I had some heart-shaped stickers from scrapbooking, so I let her put them on as eyes and buttons on the snowman.  It took a little gentle hinting as to where the stickers should go, but in the end, you can tell she put them on and not me.

So our sliding door looks really cute, covered in snowflakes and a snowman.  I love how they turned out, and I love having a daughter to decorate and do crafts with!  So try to enjoy the snow, and make good use of your time in jail inside.

Just chillin'
