Camera, Cheese!

"You see, this is my life! It always will be! Nothing else! Just us, the cameras, and those wonderful people out there in the dark!... All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up." - Norma Desmond, Sunset Boulevard

Here's what's funny: I never told Maeve to say "cheese" when I took her picture, but she started saying it anyway.  I blame the Elmo's World episode about cameras.  On the upside, it actually does work, if I tell her to "say cheese" she does, and gives me the goofiest, cheesiest smile she can muster.  But only if the camera makes that fake, shutter-closing noise.  Otherwise she just stares at me.

Of late, our camera has suffered an accident which has rendered it inoperable (I dropped it and broke the screen) so we have been using a video camera I bought for Daddy back when we were pregnant.  It's no great shakes, and we'll probably get another camera soon, but Maeve loves this one because it makes the noise.  So now we play Camera, which involves her standing in front of me making cheesy faces every time the shutter noise goes off.

Yesterday she added the element of dress-up, and put on my house sweater, which I wear in the mornings when I'm chilly.  On her it was a bathrobe, but very adorable.  So now, without further ado, I give you my little camera hog:
