new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down
new paths.

It may be a little symbolic, but we turned Maeve's carseat around this week: she is now a big, facing-forward kinda gal. It's a little early according to the
AAP guidelines, but Maeve had really outgrown her rear-facing position, as she is three feet tall. So we went ahead and flipped her, and she loves it.
For one thing, handing cookies back to her, or her pacifier, is much, much easier, and it's lovely to be able to see her face in my rearview, so I can know what she's feeling. And I think she really likes looking out the front, and being able to see me.
I'll tell you what, though, she looks like such a big girl back there... such a toddler. Which, of course, she is. But rear-facing is just another outgrown pattern left by the wayside, along with the swaddling blankets, bottles, formula, boppy pillows, and her bassinet. I might as well try and catch the wind.
I bet she's so excited to get to see everything when you drive now! :D
ReplyDeleteon the other hand, do you really miss spending you life's savings on formula? progress can be a dern good thing sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLiz- totally true. Progress is good, almost all the time. It just does things to your heart as a mommy.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my all time favorite quotes. If you like that quote you should watch Meet the Robinsons!
ReplyDeleteAnd MAEVE you're getting SOOOO big!
