"The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions -
the little, soon forgotten charities of a kiss or a smile, a kind look
or heartfelt compliment.
"
-Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Maeve's dollies and stuffed animals have several occupations in life. Sometimes they take naps, sometimes they drink from a bottle, sometimes they dance. But their main action in life is smooching and being smooched, but oddly enough, not by Maeve.
She is a busy woman, you know, and really, it's Mommy's job to do the smooching in this house. After all, she is so busy kissing Maeve all the time you would think she didn't have anything better to do. So Maeve will sit contentedly and play with her dollies and dinosaurs until I hear a "Smooch, smooch!" and then I rush over to deliver the goods.
And it's not just dollies and stuffies, sometimes I have to smooch balls and blocks and all kinds of things without a face. Maybe Maeve feels like the division of smooches isn't even, and she wants everyone to get in on it. It's difficult to say. And sometimes the dollies smooch each other, which is very nice, even when it's Batman and Captain Picard. A friendly dolly smooch goes a long way in building friendships.

| Smooch, Daddy! Picard is lonely. |
