Easter Understanding

Big news, I think this is the first holiday that Maeve really 'got'!  Christmas was over her head, despite enjoying the presents, but I think Easter got through to the child this year.  It helped that I read her "Where are Baby's Easter Eggs?" before we went egg hunting:
The Count also wanted in on storytime.
And I think the concept of look-for-the-egg, get-candy really got through to her after a few minutes.
egg hunting is best done with a mouthful of goodies...
And, as it turns out, 'jaybeans' are super yummy.
although she felt the need to hold onto the beans while she ate them - a messy proposition!
And not only did she really grasp at least the more superficial traditions of the season, she also allowed me to put her hair in pigtails, which is a major battle won for Yours Truly!
Still figuring out how to open the eggs.
So we had a great Easter at our house: Maeve understood the egg hunt, and maybe even the Easter bunny, Daddy made remodeling plans with Grandpa for our future guest room, and Mommy pulled off, if I do say so myself, a spectacular Easter dinner that was delicious! (Love those pre-cooked hams!)  All in all, a day worth remembering.
