Grandma, Grandpa

"Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do.  Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.  ~"Alex Haley

One of Maeve's happiest days of the week is Sunday, because she gets to see her Grandma and Grandpa.  In fact, she asks me about them just about every morning when she gets up, and I almost always have to remind her that we won't see them until next Sunday.  They are absolutely some her favorite people.

She loves how they play with her and give her their undivided attention whenever they can.  And yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa brought their dogs (or doggies, as Maeve calls them), which was a real treat.  I'm sure the poor pups slept very well last night, as Maeve basically wouldn't stop petting or following them around in hopes of "smoochies".

Yesterday, Maeve also enjoyed the wading pool Grandma had given her earlier this summer, and tried on the new swimming suit (or space suit, as she called it) that Grandma brought, too.  It was a hot day in Colorado and two inches of water in a wading pool does a lot of good to a toddler! I just love that I can keep it on the deck, in just a patch of sunlight, and not have to worry too much about her getting sunburned.  It was a nice, lazy afternoon.

So thanks, Grandpa, for putting in my wonderful new garage door opener, and thanks, Grandma, for a nice, lazy Sunday afternoon with my daughter and your puppies.  It's always great having you here.

This is not the swimsuit- but look how happy!
