Maeve has a new favorite game, yes, besides ballerina, doctor, and astronaut. She likes to pretend to sleep. This is by all means an excellent game, and I heartily encourage it!
She will grab a blanket and pillow of whatever sort is handy, and curl up, bidding us night night. Usually she has already dragged us by the hand to a place of her choosing and told us to go to sleep, too, and Daddy and I are quite willing to oblige. And if you get up before it's time, Maeve pushes you down with a chiding back ta sweep!
The only hitch in the plan is that we have to 'wake up' after about twenty seconds of rest, or be climbed on by a thirty-three pound girl who is made entirely of elbows and knees, or so it seems when she vaults herself onto my stomach. But it devolves into wrestling, tickling, and smooches, so all's well that ends well.
We are sorry to say goodbye to Daddy who is heading back to work today; it was a great little stay-cation and we wish it was longer! But it was bliss to spend a whole week together as a family, and today I'll go back to being General Momma, large and in charge. As long as we keep playing bedtime, at least I'll get a few breaks!
