Sesame Street Days

I made a plan yesterday, that Maeve and I are going to spend some time each day focused on a letter of the alphabet.  It's won't be the only thing going on, just something we talk about and look for, and do a little art about, much like Sesame Street has their episodes brought to you by the letter R

I wanted it to be easy to incorporate into our days and not a big change in routine, because we all know toddlers just inherently hate those unless they involve sugar.  So we'll do one art project around the letter, but we do art just about every day, anyway.  We'll do one outside activity around the letter, just in our yard, probably.  We'll look for that specific letter wherever we go on our outings, and maybe try to work it in to what we're doing.  And we'll eat something related to that letter somehow.

Today will be the letter A, and we'll make an A that looks like an anthill, and put ant stickers walking up and down the sides.  We'll eat applesauce, look for acorns in the yard, and check out the astronauts and asteroids at the museum.  Pretty laid back, so we'll see if it catches on with Maeve.  I'm kind of excited, as I've been thinking about this for about a week, trying to get ideas and make a plan.  But she's so keen on letters and talks about them all the time, so I think this will be fun for her.

She can paint the letter M!
