Life is Good, My Friends

Who can have eggs in baked goods?

This girl can.

She tried a doughnut so far this weekend, but I have plans for her to try out cupcakes, Eggo waffles, and chicken noodle soup this week, all previously forbidden foods.

I can't even tell you how great she did at the allergist's office. She went at it like a champ, like a pro. All that sitting and waiting, all those vital signs and checking for hives, and she sailed right through it.

She also delighted and probably very much surprised her allergist by drawing her a picture of a uterus holding a balloon. But that's Maeve for you! She didn't quite get that horn shape, it was more circular and blobby, but that's probably what mine looks like after her, anyway.

Anyway, thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers about Maeve's appointment, and I'm so thrilled because her allergist said she doesn't even want to see her for another year. Hooray! I could use less time spent in that office! Life is good, my friends. Very, very good.

And she liked the doughnut - although she mostly ate the frosting and sprinkles off the top. Because that's just the kind of philosophy Maeve has.
