Michelangelo is right, I love Maeve's feet a million times more than her shoes. But and however, baby shoes are cute.
I took Maeve to a playground on Tuesday, which I didn't realize was built from wood. Honestly, who makes playgrounds out of wood? It must have been built more than a few years ago. At any rate, here we were, walking around on a playground that was a little splintery and old, and I realized my little girl needs to be wearing shoes, now that she's such a big walker!
Our first trial run of walking outside our house was at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on Sunday. I l let Maeve walk around the diorama area, while I held her hand, of course. It went so well, I thought I should let her get out and about a little more. Plus, I think it wears her out well for naps.
So yesterday we tried her new kicks. They're soft leather, which works very well for her to walk in. I don't think she's ready for hard-bottomed shoes yet, because she does a lot of gripping with her toes. But AI was so proud of her when she walked halfway out to the car yesterday in her new shoes! And the report after the ride in the car was that the shoes, although difficult to remove while in a carseat, taste delicious.
Ladybug shoes! Thanks, Grandma Vicki! |
Those shoes are adorable! Sammy has a similar pair with crocodiles on them and he seconds the tasting delicious part. :)
