Couch Life

"I want to go back to Brazil, get married, have lots of kids, and just be a couch tomato. " -Ana Beatriz Barros

There were many highlights over the weekend; we enjoyed the Italian cultural festival, had some great friends over, spent time with Maeve's local grandparents,  and ate some pretty good Indian food which I prepared myself.  But the best thing of all was our new couch.

We had a loveseat that we had bought only 2 years ago, but it was a floor model, and had recently passed the uncomfortable mark and was trending toward hard, saggy, and lame.  So over the Labor day weekend we bought a brand-spanking-new, never-sat-on-before couch and had it delivered yesterday.

It reclines, so we got rid of our ottoman so that Maeve will have lots more space to play.  Especially since we're going to attempt to make her a play kitchen for Christmas, we're going to need a little more play room.  And it's a real couch instead of a squeezy loveseat, so Maeve can sit up here with us! This has led to new, fun games like Feed Daddy a Pretzel, and Mom's favorite, Sit Down On the Couch!!!

I really do love being a grownup sometimes, especially when it means getting Grownup furniture that suits us so well.  And when it means playing with my funny little Bean, even when it seems that fully half my day is spent convincing her that crayons are not a snack food.

Lounging, Pajama-syle.

  1. Congrats on the new couch! I have my fingers crossed that we'll be able to get a new sofa and loveseat this December---our current seating furniture is pushing the decade mark and definitely showing it! :D
