Sick Valentine

Song of Solomon 5:8- Young women of Jerusalem, I charge you: if you find my love, tell him that I am lovesick.

It has been said that mommies get no sick days, and this is deeply and miserably true.  It doesn't matter how crappy you feel, if you are conscious, you are taking care of the child.  My dear Husband was kind enough to stay home yesterday, as he needed another day to recover, too, so I got some good naps in and let him take over all the running-around games we play.  But today I am on my own; tired, feverish, sore, and ready to tackle life with a toddler.  Well, as ready as I'll ever be.

It's Valentine's Day, but it doesn't really much feel like it, since the Husband and I hat our Valentine's date just under a week ago.  It was a lovely date, and we enjoyed it immensely, despite his having this same bug.  We got dinner at one of our favorite places, and watched some opera live from the Met at a local theater, a really great night out.

Today I am just aiming at getting through the day, but I do look forward to when he gets home, not just so I can have a break, but so I can cook him up some chicken fried steak and show him my love.  Because even when I feel icky, he is still my Valentine.

Still lovesick after all these years
My little pensive valentine

  1. I hope everyone is feeling better soon! It's no fun looking after a toddler when you're under the weather!
