Kindness Enters the Scene

"Oh, thank you, Mommy!"

"Mommy, I miss you so much!"

"I need another big hug!"

"Oh, that's so nice of you, Mommy!"

There's something they don't tell you about three year olds.  Not only is it a rough year with many challenges and fights and tantrums and crazy, you also get some of the best hugs and compliments ever.  Kind words suddenly figure into my child's daily speech in a way they never have before.  It's a lot easier to fetch and carry for a child who, upon being handed a smoothie with a crazy straw, says "Oh, thank you, Mommy!"  as if I'd lent her $100.  So that's my happy thought for the day.
