Tough on Paper

Sometimes, a day looks like it's going to be really tough, on paper. Maeve had school in the morning yesterday, but then I had exactly nothing planned between 11:15am and 6:30pm when bedtime was going to happen, and Daddy was out for the night.

But that exactly nothing turned into playing with Legos, going to the park, playing on the bed, writing Valentines, making banana bread together, taking a bath, and starting to read The Little Prince.

And there was no fighting, and no screaming, and no tantrums. It was one of those accidental, unplanned, golden days.

Maeve remarked to me while she was in the tub that it had been a good day, and I agreed with her.
